About

Screen Shot 2013-06-08 at 5.07.48 PMHey everyone! I am a young professional who graduated from an expensive private university in May of 2010 with a lot of student loan debt. I then graduated again in August of 2012 with my Finance MBA with even more student loan debt.

Don’t worry though, I paid them all off in July of 2013!

I used to work full-time in the financial services industry, but I recently left my day job so that I could work full-time on my business.

I recently decided to start a new blog (this one). This blog will be entirely devoted to my life and how I’m trying to diversify as much as I can.

Even though my tagline says that I want to be financially independent, not everything on this blog will be about passive income. You will hear a lot about investing (stocks, real estate, etc.), different ways to make money, career talk, budgeting and so on.

So what is financial independence? Financial independence is the point where I can choose whether or not I want to work, and therefore be able to work on things that I enjoy. I don’t want to feel like I am stuck forever, and having the choice to do what I want to do is important.  Read further in the post What is Financial Independence?

  1. Hey Michelle
Congrats on the new website! Honestly, I can hear what you have to say on finance or personal life all day long but I’m keen to see more about side hustles and other money goodness too.
Cheers and consider me an already devoted follower!

  2. Great to see a new ‘start-up blog’ for you. I really like reading the MSoC posts and I look ahead to enjoying some of your investment posts too! Keep up the great work – saving the rest of us a bunch of time and troubles!
